The Blessing Ceremony

Every Himalayan handmade mala from our collection is made with a strong commitment to tradition and mindful craftsmanship. Our artisans come from the Himalayan foot hills, which are considered to be the sacred Himalayas – the birthplace of yoga and home to Mother Ganga. With each knot applied, we chant the Gayatri mantra for additional protection and blessings. Moreover, before we send out these malas to their new owners, we perform a special blessing ceremony to ensure that they serve their purpose in the most efficient manner. By investing into one of our Himalayan malas you can rest assured that it carries powerful healing and protective properties, helping you lead a life of balance and joy.

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्व: तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात ॥

 Gayatri mantra in English

Aum Bhur Bhuvah Swah, Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi, Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat

Meaning of Gayatri Mantra

Oh God, the Protector, the basis of all life, Who is self-existent, Who is free from all pains and Whose contact frees the soul from all troubles, Who pervades the Universe and sustains all, the Creator and Energizer of the whole Universe, the Giver of happiness, Who is worthy of acceptance, the most excellent, Who is Pure and the Purifier of all, let us embrace that very God, so that He may direct our mental faculties in the right direction.

We take the malas to a nearby temple where they are blessed and energized by the priest; they are sprinkled with the holy water of the river Ganges.
